When everything comes together, Vitaly Petrov has proved he has what it takes to cut it at the front in Formula 1 - witness his valiant defence against Fernando Alonso in Abu Dhabi last year. However, consistency has not proved to be one of his strengths and all too often in 2010 he threw away good results through silly errors that frustrated the team. Renault has stuck with him, though, and Robert Kubica's absence this year will give him the perfect opportunity to show what he is really capable of with the benefit of a year's experience under his belt.
