The GP2 champion's presence within the Williams garage owes less to his abilities as a driver than it does to the Venezuelan government backing that he brings to the team. That said, he's no slouch - his six consecutive feature race wins in GP2 last year was a feat that eluded the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Nico Hulkenberg. If he has one weakness, it is his vulnerability to sudden, dramatic and sometimes inexplicable shifts in form, but Williams have already declared themselves pleasantly surprised by his pace and feedback in testing. If morale stays high, he's capable of cutting it in F1.
